There's No Place Like Home

Some days there's nothing better than enjoying time at home surrounded by toys. Isaac emptied his toy box on his lap and then kept busy playing with everything.

Isaac has a double ear-infection but he's still such a love. He slept off and on last night and then didn't sleep at all after 5 a.m. So, he's in a lot of pain, quite congested, and extremely exhausted. But as we were leaving the drive-thru pharmacy with his prescription, he waved and blew kisses to the pharmacist. Such a love.

Watch Dogs

We have two boys that love to look out the window! I think both of them know each and every neighbor; if not by name than certainly by sight. Isaac and Oscar keep tabs on the 'happenings' on our street and let us know if there is anything important in view (birdies, squirrels, doggies, school kids, buses, mailman, etc). An added bonus is the window sill makes a great path for Isaac's cars and trucks and a great chin rest for Oscar.

Funny Little Valentine

Isaac will look at books with us as long as we will sit there with him. He likes to crawl onto our lap (or into our arms) and look at book after book after book. He recognizes so many things in the books (birdies, stars, cows, doggies, balloons, hats, etc) that very little reading happens, we just talk about the pictures. That's ok though, he loves books and we love that!

Car rides are also becoming more interesting. I never realized how many businesses have flags in front of their buildings until Isaac started pointing them out to me. He also makes sure I don't miss a bus or truck that drives by. And, I think car dealerships have balloons on the cars as a marketing strategy to reach consumers at a very young age. Isaac knows there is a dealership at an intersection by our house so he is ready for the balloons before we are even there yet.

Martin and I are both enjoying Isaac's excitement as he discovers more and more of the world around him. There's something new every day.

Another 1st

Isaac got his first official haircut. I've been snipping here and there but Martin and I decided it's time to let a pro take care of it. We brought him to a special salon just for kids. There were so many distractions (movie, music, toys, snacks) that by the time Isaac realized a stranger was coming at him with a sharp object, the cut was almost complete. We cannot believe how grown up Isaac looks and how his sweet little face just shines.

Cop a squat

We gave Isaac some fun Eric Carle nesting blocks for Christmas. He's discovered when they're not nesting, they're great for resting.
