Family Days Rock!

This Saturday was a family day! We started off by going to the farm to pick peas. It was fun to see Isaac trying to figure out the difference between the peas and the leaves. Then we were off to find a letter box at the zoo. Letter boxing is a low tech scavenger hunt. You get the directions from a website to find a "letter box" in a given park or recreational area. We found it! After finding the letter box we headed to a fun little playground at the zoo. Isaac is getting braver and braver!

How Great Thou Art

This picture of tiny Isaac in the middle of the tall trees reminds me of the hymn 'How Great Thou Art', one of my favorites.

An Independent

Isaac is past the point of needing help at meal time. He makes strides each day that bring him more into 'boy-hood' and further away from 'baby-hood'. He does really well with his yogurt (in the picture above) and leaves very little to clean-up.

Isaac is really into buckles lately too. He holds the buckle in place on his carseat while I get him situated. He also likes to play with the one on his highchair, even if it's not meal time.

New words: "Hee Haw" and "Out"

Nigh Nigh

We took Isaac camping this weekend for the first time. He did fantastic! I bought some new outdoor toys at the local five & dime (which was also a sentimental visit, my Grandma used to take me there to pick out toys) and Isaac kept busy playing with them all weekend long. There was some gravel on the campsite next to us and Isaac had so much fun digging in it and loading stones in and out of his trucks. Here he is snuggling up to the 'Woof Woof' who is 'Nigh Nigh'.

Helping Mamma

Isaac loves to help. I was pulling weeds out of the driveway and Isaac plopped down on my lap. He tried to pull a few weeds for me and then decided it was more fun to help me with the sound effects. So, with each weed pulled by Mamma, a grunt came from Isaac.
