Playing Hard

We visited the Children's Museum with Isaac's cousins. It was a ton of fun! Isaac was so excited he started clapping in the middle of playing. He went from one thing to the next and carried around a play fork and spoon from the little kitchen as he wandered. He also played with the balls, the squishy soft shapes, and the big plastic legos. It was a good day for play.

New found bliss

Today Isaac discovered fun in the form of a laundry basket. He usually helps me with the laundry, but today was no ordinary day. He had a great time sitting in the basket and throwing the clothes out for me - his own method of folding. The real fun began when I threw the clothes back in the basket for him. We played this new laundry game for almost 20 minutes. There's more clothes in the dryer so I'm sure we'll be back at it soon. There's never a dull moment.

And, by the way, his step by step has turned into leap by leap. He is unstoppable!

Step by Step

Isaac has taken his first steps. He was even kind enough to do it when Daddy and I were both looking at him. He took two quick steps as he "cruised" in between furniture. Martin and I both had to pick our jaws up off the floor. We were so amazed. Since than he's taken as many as four at a time. He's getting quicker and quicker every day. Yikes!

A Bookworm in the making

Isaac enjoys looking at books with Martin and me. He also enjoys taking all the books off his bookshelf (he does this daily). I've loved reading since early childhood and quite often have my nose buried in a book. Martin is also becoming more of a reader these days. So, imagine my excitement when I found Isaac looking at a book all by himself - he was turning the pages and everything! This is one habit I definitely want to encourage! With a library right around the corner, it should be an easy thing to do.

Vacation #2

So, we took another week off to spend time at Mel's parents' cottage. The weather was much cooler than our Smokey Mountain vacation, but it just made for great sleeping! We took lots of long walks (Oscar came on this trip with us), did lots of reading, did some fishing and maybe a bit too much tv watching. But, it was all about relaxing.

Here's Isaac & Mommy after an evening trip to the ice cream shop and a walk on the beach. Also, here's Isaac & Daddy living it up in the pool. Notice how much fun Daddy had styling the little man's hair.

Ahhh, tomorrow the rat race begins again.
